Back Home

So we spend the afternoon in the ER. Azlan, once again, was incredible. He never flinched getting his blood drawn, the nurses said they've never seen a baby react so well...or they should have said "simply NOT react" it was as if he had no feeling. Then the more uncomfortable part of getting a cathedar put in to get a 'clean sample' of urine for another test to see if the UTI is gone.

The final results: everything looks BETTER. The normal white blood cell count is 4000-11000...last wk Azlan's was 25,000...today it was 15,000. His red blood cell count was on the low side, the doc said it was just a bit below normal. So we are going to get his blood all drawn again in a week to see what things look like then. The interesting part was that when they did the xray looking for pneumonia ... they something very strange on the xray. His spine goes completely crooked!!! It is really bizzarre and we have no answers for this yet. We will be following up tomorrow with the nurse in Seattle Children's and again with our own pediatrician.

Thanks again for thinking of little Azlan.
