We had our appointment with the public school system speech therapist. Very interesting results--Azlan does NOT qualify for speech therapy! Weird huh? Born with a severe cleft lip and palate and 100% deaf in one ear... hmmm. However they said his vocab is HUGE and he very much uses his palate in his speech (no nasal sounds). They were very impressed. We were instructed to have him drink through a straw as much as possible as this helps his speech by using those muscles and his soft palate.
Sooooo little Mr. Azlan turns 2 tomorrow!!!! WHAT!?!? How can that be possible...? I took some photos of him as well as had his bday invitation made (even though the bday party date is changed) here they are:
